Volunteer Day


The scheduled Motuihe Volunteer Trips (latest email update here) for the next six months are listed below. No booking is necessary for the ferry, however it is advisable to ring 0800 668844 (Motuihe) after 6.30am on the day for weather and message updates. No experience is necessary.

Please note:  Tree Planting has now commenced for 2010 and will continue through to September.  Weedwork and nursery work is also available.

A BBQ sausage will be provided around 1pm, together with tea and coffee.  It is recommended that you bring extra lunch, plenty to drink, hat, sturdy shoes, and gardening gloves. Clean shoes are required for the return trip. In the summer season, it is highly recommended that you bring sunblock.

If you are new to Volunteering work on Motuihe, please introduce yourself to the Team Leaders to ensure you are given a choice of suitable tasks.

If you are travelling by private boat, meet at the woolshed, after 10.00am, - which is about 1000 metres south of the wharf, along the farm road.

Please Remember:  Ring 0800 MOTUIHE (0800 668844) to check the weather conditions/cancellation, after 6.30am on the morning of the trip.

Midweek trips can be arranged for groups. Times, dates, and activities can be arranged to suit each group. Please enquire if interested in mid week trips and extra weekends. Accommodation is available too if you would like to stay overnight in the volunteer house at a small cost, please reply by email. Beds are limited.
