Volunteering Information

Community volunteer days occur every Sunday where the general public participates in many different conservation activities. Since 2000, volunteers have provided crucial physical, scientific and educational input which has achieved the goals of:

  • Keeping the island mammal pest free
  • Reducing significant introduced pest plants to manageable levels
  • Removing much of the redundant farm infrastructure
  • Completing planting over 60% of the island (as at end 2009)
  • Raising 50,000 plants for the next planting season
  • Commencing and continuance of baseline monitoring

Support from community volunteers is required to enable this project to keep moving forward.
