Motuihe Island Kiwi Release
As you are a supporter and volunteer of the Motuihe Island restoration we would like to invite you to a release of Little Spotted Kiwi onto Motuihe Island during the second week of March.
An invitation is attached.
The plan is to catch 26 kiwi from Kapiti Island over a series of days using highly trained kiwi dogs and then release them the following day on Motuihe Island after two boat trips, an aircraft trip and a couple of car trips. The first planned release day is the afternoon of Tuesday 9 March, the second release day is the afternoon of Wednesday 10 March and the last release day is on the morning of Saturday 13 March. These kiwi will join the 14 kiwis which were released in March last year.
If you would like to join us for this memorable occasion please book your tickets by contacting 360 Discovery by telephone on 0800 360 3472 or www.360discovery.co.nz
It will be a good opportunity to see a close view of kiwi. Ticket numbers are limited. You are welcome to invite your family. The walk to the release site is 30-45 minutes on a grass track.
The cost is $25 which includes ferry transport and a cup of tea at the tree nursery after the release. Please book your tickets as soon as possible. Ticket numbers are limited and any unbooked spaces will be offered to the general public.

If you cannot make the trip this time you may care to participate in the release of bellbirds onto Motuihe Island in mid May.
